Matovu eager to contribute

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs new addition to the squad, Sula Matovu, says he feels privileged to be a part of the Soweto club.

The Ugandan striker told Kaizer Chiefs website, that it was a good feeling to be called up by coach Steve Komphela after he made his debut on Sunday, 16 August against Bloemfontein Celtic.

“Thank you so much. I feel so privileged to be part of Chiefs,” Matovu said.

“It was a pleasure to be part of the travelling squad. I just told myself to focus and to look forward to the match. I want to work for the team to succeed.

“It was a good feeling to be asked by the coach to come on. It’s not the end, but the beginning of hard work.”

Matovu admits that he was eager to get on the scoresheet in the match against Phunya Sele Sele as the 1-1 stalemate was not the result they were looking for.

“I wanted to score a goal but that didn’t come to a reality. The result was not what we were looking for but as an individual I have a winning character. I want to contribute to the club’s success.”
