The Bafana Bafana full-back makes way for Patrick Phungwayo (or Ayanda Gcaba), after receiving his fourth yellow card of the season against Chippa United confirmed Pirates' website.

Phungwayo, a former Bidvest Wits Captain, is highly likely to make a return to the starting line-up as a left back, after making just two starts since the beginning of the season.

This will be the first competitive cup match between Pirates and City.

The teams have met in three league clashes since Rise and Shine’s promotion to the top flight in 2013.

The Buccaneers have two wins to Polokwane’s one, with the Soweto side’s second victory a comprehensive 3-0 victory recorded earlier this season.

The Sea Robbers and Rise and Shine kick-off in the Telkom Knockout Cup at 15:00.
