Matlaba in VV's bad books

Johannesburg - Vladimir Vermezovic has voiced his anger towards Thabo Matlaba receiving a red card against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Match report: Mamelodi Sundowns v Orlando Pirates

Two fantastic goals from Kermit Erasmus and another by Lehlohonolo Majoro gave Orlando Pirates a 3-0 PSL win over Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus but it was the late Thabo Matlaba dismisal that irked Serbian coach Vladimir Vermezovic.

According to Soccer Laduma, Matlaba's sending did not sit well with the Sea Robber coach.

“I didn’t see well, if it was Thabo or some other guy, but to be winning 3-0 and with one minute to go, to do something like this is unacceptable,” said the Pirates coach.

“We have to discuss it and see what we are going to do, but it is more important we got the three points.”

Thabo Matlaba was sent in second half injury time for a silly studs up challenge on Sundowns' Kuda Mahachi.

Matlaba will now be miss Pirates' next two fixtures after being sent off.

The Buccaneers next face a trip to the Peter Mokaba Stadium for their Absa PSL clash with Polokwane City on Saturday, August 30 at 15:00.
