According to KickOff, Matlaba feels that a yellow card was a more feasible caution for his challenge on Kuda Mahachi.

“I think the referee was too harsh,” Matlaba said.

“A yellow card could have been a better option.”

Matlaba is set to miss the next two games against Polokwane City and Bidvest Wits in the league through suspension.

The defender confesses that it was unfortunate that he hurt the Mahachi as he was only trying to fight for the ball.

Orlando Pirates coach Vladimir Vermezovic voiced his anger towards Thabo Matlaba receiving a red card against Mamelodi Sundowns.
