Amakhosi will resume their Premiership campaign against Maritzburg United at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, September 27 and Mathoho was in danger of missing the match.

However, according to a medical report posted on the Chiefs website, the centre-back was on his feet and could be available for the Team of Choice’s visit.

"Defender Erick Mathoho sustained a knee injury on the right leg during the MTN8 final on weekend. He started light training again today," said the report.

Meanwhile, the duo of Itumeleng Khune and Katlego Mphela are only expected back next month, as they continue being treated for their injuries.

“Itumeleng Khune and Katlego Mphela are currently doing gym work,” added the report.

“They are both progressing well. And are expected to be back by late October.”

Kick-off is at 20:15.
