Massa fires friendly warning

Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic and the University of Pretoria played two friendly games this morning and new Siwelele signing, Geoffrey Massa, managed to grab a goal against the club that sold him only a few weeks ago.

Clinton Larsen spoke to Sport24 about the games in which all his new signings, including ex-Pirates duo Helder Pelembe and Mthokozisi Dube, got a good run out.

“We eventually played two games; drew the first one 1-1 and the second 0-0,” Larsen said.

“Massa played and scored,” Larsen revealed when asked about the impacts of some of his new signings.

“Everybody except Wana played, he has got a knee injury so he didn’t play.

“Phalane played, Pelembe and Dube played, Thabang Matuka a former Maritzburg player played - all the new guys got at least an hour to 90 minutes.

“At this stage we are not getting too tactical it is more just for fitness to get the guy match fit.

“After the four-team tournament we come back and play against SuperSport and Highlands Park so we’ve got some quality friendlies coming up."
