Cape Town - Following a groin injury while on national duty last Thursday, Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana defender Tsepo Masilela is set to undergo a scan to determine the extent of the injury.

It ruled Masilela out of Bafana’s tough assignment against Spain at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday night.

The former Getafe defender was replaced by the Mamelodi Sundowns left-back, Tebogo Langerman.

Langerman is, however, unlikely to start due to the availability of Orlando Pirates defender, Thabo Matlaba, who recently recovered from injury.

A report on the Soccer-Laduma website suggests Masilela could be out of action for a couple of weeks.

The Mpumalanga-born defender is also expected to miss Chiefs’ Telkom Knockout semi-final against Platinum Stars on Saturday night.
