Masilela focusing on Swallows

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs may be setting records with their winning run, but Tsepo Masilela insists they are taking it one game at a time, with thoughts only on Wednesday's derby with Moroka Swallows.

A victory over Ajax Cape Town on Sunday saw Chiefs set a new South African record for the number of consecutive wins, with the Glamour Boys' 15 victories on the trot breaking the previous mark set by Mamelodi Sundowns.

Stuart Baxter's side are already ten points clear at the top of the league standings, and they be looking to extend their run when they face Swallows.

However, Masilela says that they are not getting too carried away with how the season has begun.

"Of course, we are happy," Masilela told the club's official website.

"However, on Wednesday we will play Moroka Swallows. We can’t dwell too much on the past. Swallows will be a new game.

"We are having a great run," added the full-back.

"Swallows will obviously want to become the first team to beat us this season and, as a result, they will push extra hard to achieve this.

"On the other hand, the coach always stresses that we keep focussed. He continuously wants us to improve and to become even better."

Wednesday's encounter will take place at the FNB Stadium, with kick-off at 19:30.
