Johannesburg - Tsepo Masilela insists Kaizer Chiefs have already put their defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns behind them and have shifted focus to Wednesday's clash against Mpumalanga Black Aces.
According to the Football411.com website, Amakhosi saw their PSL title defence take a big knock on Saturday after slumping to a 1-0 defeat at home against the Brazilians, a result which left the two sides level at the top of the standings. The Glamour Boys do, however, have a game in hand over Sundowns, and although last weekend's loss - their first at home this season - was a tough pill to swallow, Masilela insists they are ready to respond when Aces make the trip to the FNB Stadium in midweek.
"The defeat to Sundowns is water under the bridge now, although we are aware that we lost three valuable points," he told Football411 in an exclusive interview.
"We take a defeat the same way against every opponent and the Sundowns defeat was no different. We are waiting to see what the coach requires from us ahead of (Wednesday's) match.
"But we are aware that Aces have been doing well too but we need all three points to consolidate our lead."
A 100 percent run from Chiefs in their final last five Premiership games of the campaign would guarantee a successful defence of their crown, and Masilela is targeting just that.
He continued: "I think we are in a situation where if we win all our matches, we retain our league title and it all in our hands.
"We know what we are up against and we just have to take each game as it comes. We need to do as we did last season and continue doing what we have been doing throughout the season.
"We take it one game at time, try to score goals and avoid conceding."
