Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns veteran striker Katlego Mashego has come to terms with becoming a supporting cast member in the squad.

At the weekend, Mashego showed his worth when he grabbed the winning goal for Sundowns in the 2-1 victory against Platinum Stars.
The 32-year-old, a former leading PSL marksman, has seen little game time as he's been competing with younger players in his position.
Mashego's hopes for game time have also been hampered as he struggled with niggling injuries since late last season.
"At the age where I am I know I have to be a squad player which means to be ready when I am called upon," Mashego told SuperSport.
"I know I can't play all the games but I will always be ready for the team and I will always be willing to play my role and contribute."
This season Cuthbert Malajila has spearheaded the Sundowns strike department with 10 goals. Last season Mashego bagged seven goals after playing just half the season due to injury.
Mashego's performance in their previous game may have done enough to convince coach Pitso Mosimane to field him again in the penultimate match of the season, against SuperSport United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.
