Mashego: Pitso a hard worker

Johannesburg - Charismatic Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is a true character of South African football, but Katlego Mashego also says he is one of the hardest working coaches in the league.

According to the Soccer-Laduma website, when the final whistle goes, fans are always interested to hear Pitso’s thoughts on proceedings with his colourful quotes in post-match interviews, but Mashego gives us a rare peak behind the scenes into how the coach goes about his daily chores.

"I think we have the hardest working technical team in the PSL! The coach (Pitso) and his assistants work very well together with the rest of the technical team," Mashego said in an exclusive Supporters Club interview.

"They show us video analysis of the opposition players, our own mistakes and where we are doing well, and tell us whatever we need to know about our opposition well ahead of time.

"I can safely say we have the best technical team around. They are the best I’ve ever come across, from the coaches to the physiotherapist. I mean, everyone is on top of their game here and there’s a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. People aren’t aware of just how hard our technical team works."

MashEgo also says that despite looking fairly strict, Pitso is not actually that harsh.

"The one thing that people don’t know about Pitso is that he’s not as hard to please or as harsh as he seems to be," he continued.

"I think people have a completely different perception of who the man really is, based on his passion for the game. He’s one of the most passionate coaches I have ever seen! He embraces his players and always enjoys it when his team wins."
