According to KickOff, an unnamed source reveals that the 30-year-old defender “willing to compromise” with the Naturena club as his contract with the club reaches its ending with less than two months left.
“Tefu is willing to compromise on the salary, but not the signing on fee,” said the source.
“He has communicated that to the club with the help of his agent [Jazzman Mahlakgane].
“If Chiefs agree, then the player will stay and if they don’t agree, I think that will be the end of it and the player may start talking to other clubs.”
The triple PSL award winner - Footballer of the Season, Players' Player of the Season and PSL Defender of the Season – revealed that the club and his representatives have put talks on hold because he wanted to focus on the season and that now the season is over negotiations will continue.
"I will be sitting down with Bobby Motaung and the management team to negotiate a new deal. Chiefs are the only team I have been talking to."
