The Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana defender walked away from the PSL's annual awards ceremony over the weekend with the Footballer of the Season, Players' Player of the Season and Defender of the Season awards.
In addition, Mashamaite pocketed R450 000 for his contribution to his club's Premiership and MTN8 Cup double, and he reflected on this time last season when Chiefs had just surrendered the league title to Sundowns.
"I remember last year when we lost the League, they asked the coach about his thoughts of the season and he said it was a success," Mashamaite told KickOff.
"He had his own reasons and they were very rational. Sometimes we judge success differently.
"But for me next year, I am not going to be under pressure to win six awards or anything like that. Every day when you wake up you have to do better than yesterday and that should be the aim of living.”
