Masalesa to extend Bucs stay?

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Lehlohonolo Masalesa is reportedly set to extend his stay with the Soweto club.

Masalesa joined Pirates in 2012 from Bidvest Wits on a three-year contract.

While he has not been a regular over the past three years, the 23-year-old has made some important contributions to the side, and has been featuring regularly of late under caretaker coach Eric Tinkler, a former coach at Wits.

According to a source quoted by the, the Sea Robbers are keen to extend Masalesa’s contract.

“Pirates indicated that they will be exercising the option they have on his current contract,” said the unnamed source.

“He has managed to stay injury-free and worked hard to reclaim his place in the starting eleven.

“He's indeed a special talent."
