Cape Town - Moroka Swallows head coach Zeca Marques did not hold back in his criticism of his defence following their 3-2 defeat to Mpumalanga Black Aces.

The Dube Birds have endured a torrid time of late and their struggles continued in Dobsonville on the weekend as they conceded three goals for the third time in four matches.
“Defensively we were pathetic… three soft goals at this level,” Marques commented after the match.
“Actually it was not soft goals, but it was three giveaway goals. You cannot give away three goals and expect to win. There is a no way we could win games while defending like this.
“I have to congratulate some of the players who gave their all and played attractive football and scored goals. Unfortunately no matter how many goals we scored, if we defend like this we will concede more goals.
“Even if we scored nine goals, we would have let in ten goals with such defending. We are scoring goals, but equally giving away more than we score and there is no way we will win.”
The result heaps further pressure on Marques, with his side now having slipped to 11th in the league standings, with their last victory in the league having come on August 26.
