Maritzburg to test 'Downs on Kwanda deal

Cape Town - Maritzburg United manager Quintin Jettoo says the club is hoping to sign Kwanda Mngonyama on a permanent basis.

According to KickOff, Mngonyama will undergo his second loan spell at the Team of Choice and Jettoo reveals that the club are hoping to secure his services on a full-time basis at the end of the season.

“It is just unfortunate that it came so late because we have played a couple of games already. But having said that, we are happy to have him for the rest of the season.

“We tried to get him outright unfortunately we couldn't agree and the best option was to take him for another season on loan and we will see at the end of the season the way forward.

“I'm not sure about contractual obligations... my understanding is he is still contracted to Sundowns beyond the end of the season. We obviously have to discuss with Sundowns after the end of the season.”

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
