The once-off match which will be played on Sunday, October 12 and forms part of the Macufe festival.

"We are playing every match to win. It is in our culture to win and our stakeholders expect us to do well in all competitions," Maphosa told journalists.

"We apply a similar check list to all the matches that we play and the Macufe Cup is no exception.”

Kaizer Chiefs have produced a flawless season thus far and have momentum on their side. Maintaining a winning culture will be crucial to Amakhosi’s cause and will surely be useful when the PSL season resumes next week.

Maphosa had absolutely no doubt that the eleven players who will compete on Sunday, will be wholly committed to the task, knowing that the pride of the club will be at stake.

"On the playing side, the technical team will make their selection closer to the match day.”

“There's one certainty though, we will walk through the Free State Stadium tunnel with eleven players that are fully aware that the Chiefs badge will be at stake," added Maphosa.
