Manyisa deserves captaincy

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates coach Vladimir Vermezovic believes midfielder Oupa Manyisa deserves to captain the club in the absence of former skipper Senzo Meyiwa.

Manyisa wore the armband in Pirates' 2-0 defeat to SuperSport United in the Telkom Knockout Challengeat Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.

And Vermezovic said Manyisa will continue leading the team, taking over from the late Senzo Meyiwa.

“Oupa Manyisa deserves to be the captain of this team,” Vermezovic told KickOff.com website.

“He is Bafana Bafana player, he played the whole games last season. He was named the player of the season at the club.

“And I think he completely deserves to captain this team.”
