Manqele's Chippa move off

Johannesburg - Edward Manqele’s move to Chippa United has reportedly been called off and is back with Mamelodi Sundowns.

According to KickOff, Manqele was supposed to join Chilli Boys on a season-long loan but the deal has been cancelled with Kaizer Chiefs reportedly interested in signing the 27-year old.

Sport24 reported on two occasions that the midfielder has joined Chippa and now twice hindrance has been unveiled.

Manqele’s agent, Josia Mphono has revealed that the striker will not become a Chilli Boy. “That deal to Chippa is off and we are waiting for Sundowns to hear for a way forward,” said the agent.

The player then was on the verge of taking ‘Downs to PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) as he was eager to get out of Chloorkop.

Chippa team manager Peter Koutroulis confirmed that the player is not with them in the Eastern Cape.

Chiefs have been an admirer of the Manqele as it is revealed that a bid was rejected last year by Sundowns for the player.

It is reported that the player is trying to get out of his contract with the Brazilians and join Amakhosi as a free-agent.
