Cape Town - Polokwane City captain Jabulani Maluleke admits he is missing the central midfield combination with Cole Alexander, with the latter being given the cold shoulder by the club.
Despite starting 28 Premiership games last season, Alexander is yet to make a single outing for Rise and Shine in any competition this term.
The dispute is apparently over the midfielder's refusal to sign a new contract to extend his stay at the club, causing a reshuffle in midfield.
"I really miss playing alongside him [Alexander]," Maluleke told KickOff.
"We had a great combination because we understand each other really well and we complemented each other well.
"He is a great player and he was deservedly in the national team.
"I hope he bounces back soon because we worked really well alongside each other."
However, Maluleke didn't want to take anything away from his new midfield partner.
"That said, the guy that has taken his place has been doing well so far and he also has my full support," the 33-year-old added.
"Just like we did with Cole, we will work hard together also in order to benefit the club going forward."
