Malajila relishes Chiefs chase

Cape Town - Mamelodi Sundowns forward Cuthbert Malajila is confident that catching Kaizer Chiefs is a realistic goal having done it before.

According to KickOff, Malajila believes that having caught Kaizer Chiefs before in the Absa Premiership that nothing is impossible when the league resumes.

“This time last season Kaizer Chiefs were 12 points ahead of us but we still managed to bounce back and win the League,” said Malajila.

“If we did that last season, what is stopping us from achieving that this time around?

“We have a group of great players and we are all working hard to help the team retain our League title.”

Having started thirteen times for the Brazilians, Malajila has scored five goals and has assisted eight goals in the process as well.

“Kaizer Chiefs still need to come to us and despite that match, there is still a long way to go.

“I believe Chiefs will drop points along the way, and Sundowns too. But it is how we play against the other teams that will define our season, and not the match against Chiefs,” added the striker.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
