Makola wants Al-Ahly final

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Mpho Makola is hoping to face Al Ahly in the final of the CAF Confederation Cup after helping his side secure a place in the semi-finals.

The Buccaneers booked their place in the final four of the continental competition on Saturday evening after recording a 2-0 victory over AC Leopards of the Republic of Congo.

Makola fired Eric Tinkler's men in front after 34 minutes, with Oupa Manyisa making sure of the result after netting an 88th-minute goal.

And, as Pirates edge ever closer to latter stages of the tournament, Makola and his team-mates already have a clear idea who their potential opponents will be should they progress to the final.

Al Ahly defeated Pirates in the 2013 final of the CAF Champions League, and look to be on course for another appearance in a final as they currently top Group A.

"In terms of who we play in the semi-finals we are not really concerned about that," Makola told KickOff.

"We are just looking forward to playing in the semis. It would be really a great final if we meet Al-Ahly again."

He added: "I think the experience we are getting in the CAF tournaments is phenomenal. Our attitude has changed a lot in terms of how we approach every game."
