Madondo trying his luck at Dikwena

Cape Town - Former Amazulu defensive midfielder, Khulekani Madondo, is trying his luck with Platinum Stars following Usuthu’s relegation to the National First Division.

A source close to developments told Sport24 that Madondo started his trial on Saturday, June 27 and has a chance of winning a contract if he can impress coach, Cavin Johnson.

“I have been told that the team is in search of an anchor man and Madondo is available at the moment,” the source said.

According to the source, Madondo will be the best option now that it looks unlikely that Johnson will not reunite with Michael Morton of SuperSport United, who would have been his first option, is search of a defensive midfielder.

“For now we just have to wait and see how it goes as there are also some youngsters trying their luck as well.”

The Pietermaritzburg-born midfielder started his PSL journey with Maritzburg United before moving to Amazulu.

He has also been linked with a move to newly promoted Golden Arrows.
