Mabaso relishing Ajax move

Cape Town - Abel Mabaso believes leaving Mamelodi Sundowns to join Ajax Cape Town on loan was the best move for his career.

The 24-year-old joined the Urban Warriors on a season-long loan deal from the Brazilians ahead of the Absa Premiership transfer deadline on Monday.

Mabaso has spent the last two seasons on similar deals at Maritzburg United and Mpumalanga Black Aces due to the fierce competition for places at 'Downs.

"Firstly, I wanna thank the management from Sundowns and Ajax, as well as my manager, who made this move possible," the defender told KickOff.

"I always wanted to come to Ajax; they have a way of doing things you know?

"I am intrigued by the club's sense of tradition and even when I played against them I was impressed by the high standard and their youth development structure.

"Just seeing the place from a distance and coming through the gates made me feel that I made the right decision coming here."
