Lewis loving move to Chiefs

Johannesburg - New Kaizer Chiefs recruit Stanton Lewis has revealed his delight at signing a deal with the Soweto giants.

Lewis arrived at Naturena this week from Ajax Cape Town after over a year of struggle due to injury.

The 23-year-old is ready to put his problems behind him and look to resurrect his career with Chiefs.

"The past eighteen months have been very frustrating for me because of the injury and when I heard that there was an interest from Kaizer Chiefs, I jumped on the opportunity," Lewis told Chiefs' official website.

"I am now over my injury and I want to play football. This is my chance to play the game I know and depending on how things turn out I am happy to make my move permanent."

Prior to penning a deal, Lewis asked former Urban Warriors team-mate Dominic Isaacs about whether the move would be beneficial - to which 'Domza' replied with a resounding 'YES'.

"He told me Kaizer Chiefs has brought success on his career that the Club is massive in true sense of the word. Domza only had good things to say about the Club," he added.

Amakhosi play Ajax on Friday night in Cape Town, but it looks likely that Lewis will not be eligible to play against his former club under the terms of the transfer.
