Leopards slam Ntshangase's 'agent'

Thohoyandou - With recent speculation linking Black Leopards midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase with a possible move to Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates or Mamelodi Sundowns, Lidoda Duvha spokesperson Tshifhiwa Thidiela has made it clear that the player will not be leaving the club.

Ntshangase’s form in the NFD last season has caught the attention of the PSL's "Big 3" but Thidiela confirmed that Leopards intend to keep the recently capped Bafana Bafana player as they aim to contest for the promotion.

Thidiela said the club is now fed up with the speculations being spread around by Mandla Mthembu who is pretending to be the player’s agent and the club spokesperson.

Duvha also revealed that both the player and the club do not even know who Mthembu is despite him being quoted by the national newspapers as a representative of the 22-year-old player.

Thidiela said that he is urging the PSL to take legal actions against the self-proclaimed agent as he is unsettling the club and the player over the matter.

“We are now fed up and bothered as a club by the speculation regarding our player," said Thidiela.

“We have decided to keep quiet about those rumours now because we know that Siphelele (Ntshangase) is a Black Leopards player. Mr Mandla Mthembu is just going around acting like he is a Black Leopards spokesperson or the player’s agent but we don’t even know who he is.

“Even the PSL rules don’t allow what he is doing because we all know that if a team wants a certain player they go straight to his club.

“Ntshangase will be rumoured to be going to Pirates this week, next week is Chiefs and the following week it’s Sundowns, and this man (Mthembu) is the behind those rumours.

“This man is disrespecting us as a team by all false speculations he is spreading. He even lied to the media claiming to be his (Ntshangase) agent, stating that the player wants to wear jersey number 10 at Chiefs.

“Yes he wears number 10 at Leopards but he never wanted it at first, he wanted number 8 but the chairman Mr David Thidiela gave him number 10.

“Now we are appealing to the PSL to take legal actions against Mthembu. And again I can confirm that Ntshangase has signed a three year contract with Leopards, so he is still our player.”
