Leopards fight back for draw

Johannesburg - Black Leopards scored two late goals to salvage a point in their Premiership clash against Free State Stars in Phuthaditjhaba on Wednesday.

Stars, hanging on to slim title hopes, raced into a 2-0 lead with goals on either side of the break, but Raymond Monama set up two late strikes as Leopards eased their relegation woes with a 2-2 draw.

Kennedy Mweene got the hosts on the scoresheet early on with a seventh-minute penalty after Vincent Mabusela handled the ball.

And Stars stretched their half-time advantage when Zakari Morou connected with a cross from Katlego Mashego to find the back of the net in the 69th minute.

Leopards, however, had always been in the game, though they struggled to finish, and eventually hit back in the dying stages.

Mongezi Bobe found the visitors' first goal nine minutes later, latching on to a pass from Monama to narrow the gap.

Stars saw their championship hopes fade in injury time when a cross from Monama found Itumeleng Duiker in the area.

Duiker netted the equaliser to give Leopards their sixth win of the season.
