Cape Town - Zeca Marques has confirmed that he has indeed signed a new two year deal with Black Leopards and tells Sport24 that he enjoys working with the club’s CEO, Tshifhiwa Thidiela.

Marques joined Leopards in January and took them from near the bottom of the NFD table to the Playoffs but unfortunately missed out on promotion by goal difference.

“Yes, it is true,” Marques said after being asked about the new two-year deal.

Many a Leopards coach has struggled under the overbearing eye of the Thidiela family but Marques insists that he hasn’t experienced any difficulties in that regard whatsoever.

“He has been very cooperative. It hasn’t been like people have said.

“Obviously Mr. Thidiela has a huge interest in the team. He has passion for his club and likes to know what is going on.

“We discuss things on a daily basis, he is quite informed as far as football is concerned and for me I have no problems.”

The 53-year-old was entrusted with the Leopards job at the start of the year, when the side was struggling in 12th spot.

Leopards finished the NFD season in third place.
