Thohoyandou - Following their impressive victory over Jomo Cosmos on Sunday, Black Leopards coach Zeca Marques believes discipline played a key role in their quest for the vital three points.

Lidoda Duvha defeated Ezinkosi 2-0 in their National First Division (NFD) and Premier Soccer League (PSL) relegation/promotion playoff at Thohoyandou stadium.

Leopards’ skipper Siphelele Ntshangase and Ivan Mahangwahaya were on target for the Venda-based outfit on the day.

‘Lollipop’ also hinted that his side will not get carried away as they still have a lot of work to do before reaching the finish line.

“It was a solid performance from our team and they were very disciplined,” Marques told Sport24 in a post-match interview.

“I think we were always in control of the game and we never felt threatened for the duration of the game.

“It was a 2-0 win but it could have ended differently, maybe 3-0 or 4-0 if we converted all our chances.

“We are very happy with the result but at the end of the day it’s all about the team performance.

“Discipline will play a key factor again in the upcoming games and we must not let our emotions control us and again we won’t be carried away now.

“We’ll take it one game at a time.”

Leopards will be looking to keep the momentum going when they face Moroka Swallows in their next playoffs installment at the Dobsonville Stadium on Wednesday.

Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30.
