Leopards bag first PSL win

Johannesburg - Newly promoted Black Leopards secured their first Premiership win with two late goals against Golden Arrows to win 2-0 in Polokwane on Wednesday evening.

Sizwe Sibiya took the first shot for the hosts as early as the fifth minute, but while both sides created a number of chances, they were left goalless at halftime.

Robyn Johannes eventually got Leopards on the score sheet in the 74th minute with an own goal after deflecting in a shot from Khethokwakhe Masuku.

Two minutes later the home side extended their advantage when Harry Nyirenda connected with a corner from Raymond Monama to find the back of the net.

Leopards were left with only 10 players for the last few minutes.

Moses Kwena brought down Collins Mbesuma and was sent off in injury time, but Leopards had done enough to bag their first three points in the top flight division.

Arrows were left trailing in bottom spot in the standings with three straight losses.
