Lekgwathi to stay put

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates captain, Lucky Lekgwathi, will be given a new contract after his current one ended with the Soweto giants.

According to Goal.com the 37 year old travelled with the Buccaneers to Nelspruit for pre-season training. It says that the player had a “brief meeting with the chairman (Dr Ivan Khoza)” before the team left.

The skipper has been with Pirates for over a decade which saw him lift many silverware including six major trophies and more recently the Nedbank Cup last season.

Pirates will go head-to-head with rivals Kaizer Chiefs on the 26 July at the FNB Stadium in the Carling Black Label Cup.
