Lekgwathi still training with Pirates

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates defender Lucky Lekgwathi confirmed that he is still training with the Sowetan giants.

The 39-year-old captained Pirates to success in two seasons, 2010/10 and 201/12 respectively and has become one of the club's most prestigious captains to date.

The Buccaneers legend told Sport24 that he is still a player but is waiting to be part of a game. In the meantime Lekgwathi is biding his time providing guidance to the younger players.

“I’m still training with the team,” Lekgwathi said.

“No, no, no. For now I am still a player.

“You know it is not easy to leave football, for now I am just training and it is my job.

“I’m here to help all these youngsters. For me, I’m here to just be around the club.

“But I am training hard; in case I get to play I want to perform,” he concluded.
