Cape Town - Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus will undergo a late fitness test to determine whether he will take part in their CS Sfaxien clash.
The Buccaneers face the Tunisian side on Saturday, August 8 at Orlando Stadium in Group B CAF Confederation Cup.
According to Oralando Pirates website, started light training yesterday [Wednesday, August 5] as he makes his way back to recovery from a hamstring injury.
Rooi Mahamutsa is making also good progress with regards to his injury. The hard tackling defender has been on the side-lines, missing the Carling Black Label as well as the MTN8 Cup due to an Achilles tendon injury.
According to the club’s medical department, Mahamutsa is close to full fitness and will most likely be available for selection for the return leg of the CAF Confederations Cup clash against CS Sfaxien.
Meanwhile, defender Thabo Matlaba has started light stretching and aqua training and will undergo further rehabilitation before he is cleared to resume full training.
Thamsanqa Gabuza [hamstring injury] has started light jogging and stretching. The forward is still undergoing rehabilitation with the medical department.
Happy Jele [knee injury] has swelling around his knee and is currently undergoing rehabilitation.
Ayanda Gcaba remains on the Buccaneers injury list as he injured his foot during a friendly game against Bidvest Wits.
