Larsen: The players showed great courage

Cape Town - Bloemfontein Celtic coach Clinton Larsen said that his team showed great character and professionalism when they played against Mamelodi Sundowns in a MTN8 quarter-finals clash.

Celtic won Sundowns 4-2 on penalties as Musa Bilankulu cancelled out Fiston Razak Abdul's 105th minute goal to take the clash into a penalty shoot-out.

The 44-year-old told Sport24 he is really grateful that the team is a part of the draw happening later today and hope for the best in the next round.

“I don’t think it’s much about the score. I think what’s important like any other competition is advancing to the next round,” he told Sport24.

“No matter the score was the important thing is that we are in today’s draw.

“The players showed very great character and professionalism indeed. Their dedication was formidable.

“Sometimes the underdog works in favour and I think that underdog character worked for us for sure.

“We are just really happy to be in the draw.”

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
