Johannesburg - Orlando Pirates coach Ruud Krol has pleaded with his attackers to apply the finishing touches to their forward play.
The Buccaneers recorded a 1-0 win over Platinum Stars on Saturday afternoon, with Bennett Chenene netting the only official goal of the game. However, the result could have been very different had the linesman not incorrectly ruled out Tshepo Ramokala's early goal for Stars.
Chenene and Dikgang Mabalane were guilty of missing several chances, while striker Katlego Mashego hardly provided a threat in the final third.
"We need to consistently start scoring more than one goal a game. The team creates five to six goals," said Krol after the victory.
"We are happy with the three points, but my main concern is still around our failure to score more goals but we are working on that at training."
Meanwhile, Steve Komphela bemoaned the bad refereeing call which cost his side a great start to the game, but he admitted that his men should have least recorded a point.
"Early in the first half we had a goal, but it was not awarded. We could have done better, at the worst getting a draw. We can't lose matches like that," he said.
Bucs are now fifth in the standings, but leaders SuperSport are most concerned by Mamelodi Sundowns, according to their coach Gavin Hunt.
