Johannesburg - Ruud Krol hit out at Teko Modise ahead of the goalless Soweto derby on Saturday after the midfielder failed to pitch up for training.
The Bafana Bafana star was substituted in Bucs' previous game - a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Maritzburg United and while many thought the maestro was replaced due to injury, his coach confirmed otherwise.
Krol admitted that Modise was not performing to his liking against the Team Of Choice and then revealed that he had not seen the playmaker since hurling him off the field.
The 27-year-old was dropped for South Africa's biggest football encounter as punishment and the Dutch mentor fired a broadside at him.
"He left after the game against Maritzburg and did not tell anyone where he was going," said Krol after the stalemate with Kaizer Chiefs.
"He did not attend training and that to me means the player is not interested in playing.
"Pirates are not a one-man team. Here we don't play as individuals but rather as a team."
However, Teko's business manager Jazzman Mahlakgane denies that his client is AWOL and revealed that he has an ankle injury.
Bucs supporters are divided on the issue, with many believing that Krol is to blame for Modise's loss of form while others agree with the coach's sentiment that Pirates are not a one-man team.
The midfielder recently signed a new deal with the Soweto giants until 2012, while the Dutch legend is unlikely to stay at the helm of the Parktown-based side after the conclusion of this season.
