Johannesburg - Teko Modise featured for 12 minutes of Orlando Pirates' 3-0 win over Ajax Cape Town and Ruud Krol believes the playmaker is back on track.
Prior to his cameo against the Urban Warriors, Modise had not played for the Buccaneers since the draw with Wits on September 18.
Krol says he has never doubted the 27-year-old midfielder's ability but he did reveal he will manage the fallen star's comeback carefully.
"I still believe in Teko because he is a quality player," Krol the Pirates website.
"I am very happy with his efforts at training and that's why I gave him a chance against Ajax.
"It was important to introduce him at a time when we were ahead to ensure that he didn't experience unnecessary pressure."
The Dutch coach was delighted with the way his team fared against the Cape side and he also backed Modise to continue to improve.
He said: "I am very happy with the way he played against Ajax. In fact, Teko is getting better and better and I have no doubt he will soon get to his best."
