Konqobe ready to learn

Cape Town - AmaZulu’s new signing Ayabulela Konqobe (formerly Magqwaka) says that he is looking forward to learning from Steve Barker.

Konqobe, who was on a season-long spell with Ajax Cape Town, told the AmaZulu's official website that he a can learn a lot from Barker who believes in his players and continuously motivates them.

"Personally I can pick up a lot from Coach Steve Barker. He is a coach who has been around a lot; he believes in his players and motivates them," Konqobe said.

"He knows what he is doing and obviously, as I said, the main goal is to bring ourselves back into the PSL and I think he is the perfect man to do that.”

"What I noticed of the AmaZulu supporters is that even when we kept on scoring they were still pushing the players on.

"I think that we as a team just need to give them that confidence back, that AmaZulu is still here and we’re going to do everything we can to get back into the PSL and the supporters will always be there for us.”

AmaZulu host Witbank Spurs on August 22 at King Zwelithini Stadium in the National First Division’s opener at 15:00.
