Sport24 spoke to the club’s Chairman, Farook Kadodia, who is keeping an open mind as he weighs up his options.
“I’m quite open at the moment, by Monday next week I will have a shortlist,” Kadodia said.
“I will be looking for a coach that can deal with both youth and experienced players, a coach with strong man-management skills and obviously a coach that will achieve.”
Kadodia piled on the pressure on any prospective coach with a startling demand for next season.
“We need to be in a top four position on the log.”
“The culture that Steve brought to the club was attack driven but obviously a lot of emphasis was placed on getting the defence right,” he told Sport24 when asked whether he would be looking for a coach to bring in any specific style of play.
Shaun Bartlett is out of a job after being replaced at Golden Arrows and could well be in the running. Another name on the lips of speculating journalists is Black Leopards coach Zeca Marques.
When questioned about the possibility of taking over at Maritzburg, Marques was surprised saying: “that’s news to me!”
