Cape Town - Maritzburg United coach Steve Komphela admits his side's woeful winless run is cause for concern, but believes worrying about their form won't help anyone.

The Team of Choice played out a goalless draw against Free State Stars on Saturday, meaning they have now failed to win any of their last eight matches in all competitions.

That run has seen United drop to ninth in the top-flight standings, just six points clear of the relegation zone, while it also ended their Nedbank Cup adventure after they went down to Mpumalanga Black Aces in the last 32 in February.

Komphela, though, is refusing to dwell on their results, preferring instead to put his focus into next weekend's Premiership trip to University of Pretoria.

"If you worry, what is going to help you? Worry is no solution in any predicament," said Komphela.

"Of course it is a concern but what is important, are you creating chances? Do you see some light at the end of the tunnel?

"Yes, we do, and by our standards, based on what we did in the first 10 matches, we shouldn't [worry] - this is how it is; just deal with it."
