Komphela happy with preparation

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela believes the recent training camp at the North West University's High Performance Centre has given his side a big boost ahead of the 2015/16 PSL season.

The defending Premiership and MTN8 champions recently returned to Naturena from the Potchefstroom campus, which followed on from their short-lived stay in Swaziland for the King's Cup.

And, while Amakhosi may only start their league campaign on August 9, they are in action a week before as they take on bitter Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates in the 2015 Carling Black Label Cup.

"The facilities were top notch," Komphela told his club's official website.

"We were looking for good fields and sufficient gym equipment, and we found all that at the campus' High Performance Centre."

He added: "It was a way of collecting info. Opening my mind for the players to read," adds Komphela.

"We shared many meals and there’s no better interaction than in sharing a meal."
