Komphela expects same old Maritzburg

Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela boasts that he knows "80 percent" of Maritzburg United ahead of the reunion with his former employers in the MTN8 on Wednesday.

This week's quarterfinal will be Komphela's first competitive match in charge of AmaKhosi, where he took over from Stuart Baxter in June.

"A leopard never changes its spot," Komphela said.

"It can only change the tracks but the spots will remain. Their DNA can't be changed overnight.

"We expect almost a team that we saw last season. There are obviously new inclusions, and also the coach.

"Knowing how we work, we worked together, he will want to tweak one or two things. But the interesting thing about coaching is to read what is happening in a match. Interpret and try to come up with solutions.

"We have players who are capable of doing that. It's going to be a difficult one, but it will also be a challenge to them. I know them in and out.

"The rest of the team is known to me. I've got 80% of information relevant about them."
