Klate, Sox exit shocked Makola

Cape Town - Orlando Pirates midfielder Mpho Makola admits he was stunned to see both Daine Klate and Tlou Segolela leave the club in the recent transfer window.

Klate returned to his old club SuperSport United, while Segolela was part of a swap deal that saw defender Tshepo Gumede and goalkeeper Siyabonga Mpontshane join the Buccaneers from Platinum Stars.

And, with Klate one of the most decorated players in the PSL and Segolela holding plenty of experience, Makola admits it came as a shock to learn both players had departed the Orlando Stadium.

"I think there is nothing wrong with players coming or going and in this case we gained two quality players [Gumede and Mpontshane], but also lost out on two quality seasoned campaigners [Klate and Segolela]," Makola told Football411.

"However, I must mention that it was a huge shock to see both Sox [Segolela] and Daine [Klate] leave.

“It was a surprise not only for me but for almost everybody in the team.

"I think during their time here, they need to be lauded for the contributions they made at the club.

"They leave behind big shoes to fill for whoever is going to fill their places and I wish them all their best in their new endeavours."
