Amakhosi suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Maritzburg on Tuesday, which has seriously dented their challenge for the league title, but Khuse believes that they can still turn things around.
"We tried everything to win this game, but Maritzburg packed their defence - everyone was behind the ball. But we tried and we missed so many chances. I think the team is getting there," he said.
"There is still a slight chance we can win the league. I think with this performance that the player have given today, they showed that they wanted to win the game. They were just unfortunate not to have scored today.
When asked if it was difficult to inspire the current team, he added: "They are not difficult to (inspire), we have been motivating them throughout the week. You find sometimes our senior players don't come into action and that demoralises some of the players.
"But, we have been trying the whole week to get the team together, to make them understand the importance of winning the league this season.
"From my point of view they did their best to get the three points but luck was not on our side."
