Johannesburg - Itumeleng Khune has warned his Kaizer Chiefs team-mates to forget about the MTN8 semi-final against Orlando Pirates and focus on Wednesday night's clash with Maritzburg United.
The goalkeeper, who kept his third clean sheet in a row while donning the gloves for Bafana Bafana on Saturday, does not want Amakhosi to suffer a setback in their league campaign by worrying about the knockout competition ahead of schedule.
"It is important for us to focus on the upcoming game against Maritzburg United before we can start thinking about Orlando Pirates," he told the club's official website.
"As professionals we should give 100% in each and every game and to me the game against Maritzburg is as crucial.
"It is very important that we keep the momentum this season following a good start against Golden Arrows."
Amakhosi will tackle their arch rivals on Saturday night at FNB Stadium and the stopper wants to reach yet another final in order to up the silverware count at Naturena.
"I have always said that for me individual awards are not important as the success of the team," he said after being commended on his form.
"We want to challenge for more trophies this season and to do that we will have to be on top of our game in each and every game."
