Cape Town - Itumeleng Khune has finally commented on his departure from Kaizer Chiefs after being with the club 12 years.

Sport24 reported that Khune will not renew his contract with the Glamour Boys and has parted ways with the Sowetan club.

Amakhosi will find themselves without their biggest contributors next season as Kaizer Motaung announced a mass exodus of players from the club.

Along with Khune, Mandla Masango, Tefu Mashamaite and Katlego Mphela will leave Naturena and seek a new club to play for.

“It is with sadness that my time at Kaizer Chiefs has come to an end after 12 years,” said Khune on his official Instagram account.

“Chiefs has been my life, my dream since I was a small boy. It has been an honor to wear the jersey and to play for Amakhosi with pride.

“I have been very lucky. I have lived my dream.”

At the press conference on Tuesday, June 2 Kaizer Motaung Snr said that Khune’s contract negotiations turned out to be a disrespectful but the 27-year-old went as far as to thank everyone at the club even the board of directors.

“To the board of directors, entire Chiefs staff, players/coaches past and present and the faithful Amakhosi supporters,Thank you for everything and your support.

“You have helped me every step in my career. I will always cherish each and every moment I spent with you.

“I would also like to thank my family for their support too.

However, the shot-stopper has not announced as to where he will be playing his soccer next season but one fan in particular, Saddam Maake, says he will organise a march if 'Spiderkid' leaves for Mamelodi Sundowns or Orlando Pirates.

“To the supporters,” Khune continued in his post.

“No words can best define my gratitude; you have made me who I am today.

“Your songs and Vuvuzela sound will forever be engraved in my heart.”
