Johannesburg - Bongani Khumalo insists SuperSport are not looking to avenge the Tshwane derby defeat they suffered at the hands of Mamelodi Sundowns last season when the city rivals clash this weekend.
The previous encounter between the Pretoria giants ended 1-0 in favour of the Brazilians. The clash was marketed as a title decider, but despite Downs taking all the spoils, it was Matsatsantsa who lifted the PSL trophy.
The Bafana Bafana defender thus believes there is no need for United to harbour thoughts of revenge and is urging his charges to apply their usual mantra of 'one game at a time' to Saturday night's encounter.
"What happened last season is now history; we are going into this match aiming for maximum points. However, the rule still stands, we are taking one game at a time," he said.
"Our games against Sundowns have produced a lot of goals. We're looking forward to another exciting game."
Khumalo recently attended a trial with English Premier League outfit Tottenham, but a move to north London failed to materialise before the close of the transfer window.
The 23-year-old is expected to make the switch to England in January, but insists the thought of playing in the world's most-watched league is not messing with his focus.
"I'm a professional and I respect the game," he said.
"I'm also a captain of the league champions and a Bafana Bafana player so my commitment to the game has not been affected at all."
