Khumalo, Lakay sign for SuperSport

Cape Town - SuperSport United have confirmed the signing of former Bafana Bafana defender Bongani Khumalo and Santos forward Fagrie Lakay.

According to the SuperSport United's official Facebook page, Khumalo signed a three-year contract while Lakay inked a four-year with the Pretoria-based club.

"SuperSport United is delighted to confirm the signings of Bongani Khumalo and Fagrie Lakay on a three- and four-year deal respectively," said the post.

Khumalo spent the five injury-ravaged years in the United Kingdom on the books of Tottenham Hotspur.

The Bafana Bafana defender never featured for the Premier League club's first team and was sent five loan spells, earning game time at the likes of Preston North End, Reading, PAOK, Doncaster Rovers and Colchester United.

18-year-old forward Lakay is a surprise addition to Gordon Igesund's squad - the young star having not been linked with a move during the current trasnfer window.

Lakay made his national debut at senior level last year at just 17-years-old,  breaking the record for the youngest player to wear the Bafana Bafana jersey.

Meanwhile, Matsatsansta will be preparing for their mouth-watering MTN8 Cup tie against Bidvest Wits on Tuesday, August 4.

Kick-off is at 19:30.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
