Johannesburg - PSL chairperson Irvin Khoza praised Black Leopards following their promotion to the top flight of South African football.
The Limpopo-based team beat Bay United 2-0 on aggregate in the promotion play-off final. After a goalless draw in the first leg in Port Elizabeth, Leopards clinched their PSL spot with a 2-0 win at Tshufulanani Stadium.
Khoza has welcomed Leopards' promotion, stating that it will do wonders for the growth of football in Limpopo.
"We welcome Leopards back into the Premiership," Khoza told the Sowetan.
"This is a positive development for the development of soccer in Limpopo, considering that the people of Limpopo have always been passionate about the game.
"What makes us even happier is that we have a world- class facility (Peter Mokaba Stadium) that was used for the 2010 World Cup. It will not be a white elephant.
"Limpopo has talent in abundance. The province has continuously produced great players, some of whom have represented South Africa at various levels."
