Cape Town - Kaizer Chiefs are gearing up for the Carling
Black Label Cup and Willard Katsande revealed that they will defend their title
through the coach’s game plan.
Amakhosi defeated Orlando Pirates 1-0 in the Soweto derby at
FNB Stadium last season in the PSL thanks to a first goal from Katsande.
“It’s always an important game. I want to look back when I'm
older and share this moment with my grandchildren. Participating in the Derby
is every player’s dream,” said Katsande on the clubs website.
“This is the time to repay the fans for voting for us. We
are going out there to defend our trophy. The game of football is not about an
individual, it’s about teamwork.” he said.
The reigning Player of the Season for Chiefs and a nominee
for the 2013/14 Absa Premiership Footballer of the Season has said that it all
starts in training which is why he does feel any pressure when playing
“We will be going into the match with the Coach’s game plan.
I don’t feel any pressure because it all starts at the training ground. I put a
lot of effort in my game. I work hard at training to improve all the time.”
“I don't have any pressure. The awards are now history. Past
performances don’t matter when you get to the game of this magnitude. My
teammates and I must work together to be consistent.” he said.
